“Whiskey Au Go Go” is a documentary series about the Whiskey Au Go Go nightclub firebombings in Brisbane, 1973 which took the lives of 15 people. The investigation of this tragic event was infamously marred by corruption and incompetence. The series explores the events leading up to the fire, the aftermath, and the conspiracy theories surrounding the case. It features interviews with survivors, witnesses and experts in the field. Through their stories, we gain a deeper understanding of the tragedy and the impact it had on the community. The documentary sheds light on a dark chapter in Australian history and the quest for justice that continues to this day

I was the set designer for this production, working closely with the director, cinematographer and writers to design and construct the set, in this case, the interior of the nightclub. Majority of the set design I did for this production was digital design given the bar section of the nightclub was going to be digitally rendered in the QUT virtual production studio. I also sourced some small props and assited in set dressing.

“Untold Origins” - Short Film [Documentary]

Untold Origins is a documentary web series featuring interviews with extraordinary Australians as they reveal their captivating pasts through life stories, to their families for the first time. In the pilot episode, Dimitri asks his grandmother about her origin story as she immigrated from Greece to Australia and the trials and tribulations. The series is designed to capture the wonder of learning about our ancestor’s history.

My role in this production was as Art director. I was responsible for the coordination of the art department, sourcing props and set pieces and assisting in the set design and dressing process.
